More neature walks...
First set of photos is from my solo hike on the Sendero Camino Real and a few shots from campus. Second set of photos is from our night hike with two of UGA Costa Rica's resident naturalists. The naturalists and interns that work on campus are awesome. Super cool folks. Hope we keep in touch when we return to the states. Big thanks to Rob and Mason for the night hike tonight.

This is a cane toad. It has poison glands and is highly toxic to small animals, including dogs. The poison from its glands is substantial enough to kill a small child. The naturalists actually got the toad to excrete the poison from its glands. Very cool to watch. |

This is a soldier leaf cutter ant. Its mandibles are very, very strong. We tugged on the stick and it would not let go. Apparently indigenous people use the soldier leaf cutter ants as sutures! |

Spot the moth. |
